Today's Quick Hunt....

Not much from a hour of free time I had but these came from land finds.Mainly posting cause of the axe head don't know much on them & I normally through them back that I find but this one was a little different so I kept.Got home beat the rust off and found that it had a stamp on it.If anyone knows age or about it would be thankful. The other little finds were a button, lead seal, boot tap, pewter spoon frag,& scrap lead.

i just found one like that. thats about all ive found lately. pretty depressing after finding good stuff ya know? good luck. willy

Don't know the age, but it looks like a falling axe. One side for chopping the other for pounding in the wedges.

Nice axe with markings. I can't quite make out what it says tho. I see a shoe tap, or whatever they're called, in there too.

Thanks Guy's, was wondering if yours was marked as well.I guess if I get time I'll try to clean it better.I feel like this site should be around the early to mid 1800's.It's a wooded site with vines & briers. So not much fun to hunt but could be some goodies if spent enough time.
