Today's Take:

This morning I cashed in all of my clad at one bank. I then got $75.00 worth of dollar coins, $100.00 worth of halves and $24.00 worth of nickels.
I sorted through those and get the following:
Halves:
1942
1963
1964
1965
two 1967
four 1968
two 1969

Nickels:
1951

I then took them back to the bank. I went to another bank and got
$190.00 worth of halves.
I searched only through $90.00 of it as I figured I would save the rest for my wife and daughter to sort through when they get home.
Here is what I got from the $90.00:
two 1966
six 1967
five 1968
one 1969

and one 1981 Peso.

Re: Today's Take:

Not a bad haul for a little investment. I'd like to get that kind of finds around here.

Re: Today's Take:

Nice % !!!

Re: Today's Take:

Great finds! I have not found a Walking Liberty in a roll yet!

Re: Today's Take:

Good results on the silver. Is this a great way to spend some free time or what. All this silver just waiting for us to come along and ask for. Don't forget the photos or scans too. :)

Re: Today's Take:

Very nice SW....I agree with the above.....great ratio. Wish they were all like that huh...Congrats! Keep em coming.

Re: Today's Take:

I found out I was shorted a roll. Wouldn't be too bad, but the teller had an attitude in the first place and didn't want to do her job. First when I told her I want more halves she frowned and sighed. Then she called her supervisor and said that I was there to get more halves and if there was a limit. Her supervisor told her that there was no limit. She frowned the whole time the transaction was going on. She counted the rolls twice(once in the vault and once on the counter) and had another lazy teller count them once. I guess from now on I will count the stuff right in front of them to make sure I am getting what I paid for, because there sure wasn't any service there. I guess when your too lazy and too upset you can't can't to 19. Pretty sad that the folks that work in a bank have to have other folks count the money for them. It was too late to call today to tell them of the mistake so I will wait until in the morning. The saddest part is growing up in a small town I have known these folks for a long time.

Here's the results of the rest of the halves that my wife and daughter pulled:

one 1964
one 1965
one 1966
seven 1967
three 1969

Grand Total for today:

three 1966
fifteen 1967
nine 1968
six 1969
two 1964
two 1965
one 1942
one 1963

one 1951 Nickel and one 1981 Peso.

Re: Today's Take:

Before you make the call to the bank check your car. It is a known fact that CRH's can't wait to get home and usually open the rolls while driving. It is possible that when you slammed on the brakes because you were searching the roll while driving a roll make its way under the seat.

Also, you yourself mentioned that they counted it twice. I would not expect the bank to just give you another roll. It was your responsibility to check the amount before you leave the window.

Best of luck

Re: Today's Take:

Not in the truck.

Not about the money so much as is the attitude along with the mistake. Wasn't going to even ask for the money, but just to point it out. Not going to the supervisor, but more of a one on one talk with the teller. If she still wants to have an attitude after that then we might take it to the supervisor. Either way she will learn of what she did.
