Well this week I decided to do some LiDAR checking on some of the fields on our permission and found something possibly interesting… so off we headed!

Loads of iron signals and lots of lead… the Deus loves those little tiny signals, we have had a lot of rain this week so the mud was very sticky, but we did 6.5 hours and got some great stuff!

I found a battered hammered.. a scrappy Roman, a George the 3rd, and the folded over coin? the usual musket balls, buttons, lead weights, buckle, strap end, lead bits ? A cube of metal, don’t think it’s lead as not super heavy?

Himself found the pendant… says Dominic savio on one side and St John Bosco on the other.

lidar pic to show the anomaly… and some interesting trees …… or is that just my mind 🤔 xx

Very cool finds! I was curious about your LiDAR image, are the anamolies the darker impressions toward the bottom of the image? I’ve never seen LiDAR imaging before, seems interesting.

Have marked look between the red lines…View attachment 2051881
Amazing stuff, AGAIN. You need to open a museum.
Is that a raised formation , like a wall? Or a depression, like a ditch? That looks like a hole just below the left end of the broad red line.

Great finds and good use of lidar. I just found the lidar image for my state. Should prove to be useful in this hobby. Keep it up and continued good luck with the deus2.

The stone? with carving, lines on it? A surface find? Looks ancient..
Great finds as usual!

Ah thank you x it’s so interesting because when you are actually standing on the field you can’t really see anything… but i would guess it was a bank rather than a ditch? 🤔. I am very new to looking at LiDAR images so I could be wrong!! Just saw the shadow so thought worth a try! def lots of activity given all the iron signals and bits of waste lead we found. Today we were going to do the area with the holes, but alas it’s pouring with rain and thunderstorms forecast, so will not be digging! xx

Ahh thank you! It’s actually Lead…it’s about an inch across, half an inch high and weighs 50g. No idea what it is… as ever!! 🤔 xx

Well certainly you weren't bored with the day of digging-Well done
See you got a couple of lead cloth seals, and the sq flat one, could be a gaming piece of sorts
The partial Crotal bell info.

Congrats on the tattered Hammie, a Lizzie right?
The 2 rings connected together is interesting, some type of jewelry piece perhaps.

Gee that Roman has to take lessons from Crusader's dirt region.

It seems that you are digging a lot more widgets with the Deus ll, just wait until you get some hours under the belt.
Good choice of the LiDAR site, time well spent-congrats again.

My eyes must be failing me...It was in the bottom pics...just noticed it has a WG carved into it...a pottery piece? I'll take a stab at it and guess 17th,18th century? It's a nice piece...love your finds!
