Today's Treasures, Torn from The Turf!
I hit a city park and an older school soccer field today, not expecting much but I seem to be always pleasantly surprised.
I found a boy's name bracelet in a baseball diamond, where the left field baseline meets the back fence. It has the name "Brent," and his birthday engraved on it. It is undamaged and bears the hallmark, "Kreister/Gold Electroplate/USA." That is correct, made in the USA!
I later found a British Ten New Pence coin, dated 1968 on the soccer field. Not five feet from the coin, I got a solid 79 VDI on the ATPro (once again, in the Lincoln cent range...) and was pleased to pull a nice little sterling ring with a green stone mounted in it. The ring is marked .925 inside.
Two days in a row with sterling rings makes Sub a happy camper.
Thanks for looking and have a safe, fun Memorial Day weekend.
