Token, 2 Cent Piece, & Indian oh my !

Was up early & out in the field by 6:30 a.m. It was a bright sunny day & the finds made it an even better day. I wasn't detecting 5 minutes, & the first hit was the "Good for 5 Cents in trade" B & F company Illinois token. It came out of the ground a little crusty because it's aluminum, but a little CLR & a half hour did the trick to clean it up. Next were a couple of Wheats that are not pictured. The field wasn't to bad, it had some corn stalks & the farmer had just knifed in some chemicals before planting. A little while later, the crotal bell with the pea inside & top stem still intact came to surface. All this came in 45 minutes time, & I'm thinking this is going to be a good outing. Then came a great hit from the Fisher CZ 5, & I dug the religious medal, followed by the livestock tag with the # 101 on it. About 2 hours & 30 holes later, I popped the 1865 Indian out. It has pretty good detail for a field coin. Last but not least, was the 1865 2 Cent Piece, also in real nice shape for a coin coming out of the field. I found all of these items in a field that had corn stalks. Cant wait to get back to this one in the fall, as it will be in Beans this year.

That was an Awesome hunt, one of my favorite finds (Crotal bell) and one of my bucket list finds the 2 Cent piece.

Nice finds. The 2 centers seem to be popping up lately. I've found 3 so far this year which equals my last 35 years total.

I bet those coins were dropped soon after being minted and probably that year. Awesome finds and that's a sweet two-center

Great looking 2 cent, and it's anniversary is today.
