The past few hunts have been fun. They are redoing a few roads around here. I found the token this evening. I wish the old aluminum tokens held up better. It’s a little rough but may clean up better. I soak them in water and scrub them for a month or so. It reads E Mitterer Goldfield Colo
5 cents in trade. I find a lot of pocket watch parts and this one has a goldish hue. Can anyone suggest a good cheap gold test kit? I love local stuff, we make lemonade from the spring water in Manitou!! The fan piece is interesting and I can’t seem to find a picture of the old fan. The axel is tapered and is probably very old! I am finding the Equinox easier to use and like the explorer you can tell pretty much if it is a coin by the tone! Happy Hunting!!! Nice finds. I like that token.

Thanks for the posts, and thanks Don for researching the token. I appreciate it! The tokens are always a favorite find! Over the years I have found 13 different tokens within a 2 block radius of my house which is downtown!

Way ta go. Nice finds.:icon_thumright:

Congrats! I got an inexpensive testing kit off Amazon that tests for various karats of gold, for silver and for platinum. A quick search will find you what you need. It's handy!

Thanks Javaroid, that sounds like exactly what I need. Hopefully I will strike it rich!

Congrats , you got the unlisted ,but known Mitterer token, the other is round and brass . I don’t think your watch is gold ,when you dig up a gold one you will know it . I dug a 14k engraved one in Altman no mistaken the gold shining up out of the dirt at me . Keep your eyes open for the aluminum round Mitterer & Ashby , Altman & Goldfield token. HH

Thanks Charlie, I have the round one here is a picture. They misspelled one of them one is Mit one is Met. I would like be to have the Aultman token. They are moving a lot of dirt around here but only a little has the old stuff. I ordered a test kit, I am just too curious.
