Token, coin?

I found this in the ocean during low tide. I tried to put it in my electrolysis machine. When I took it out I could break pieces off with my hands. Any idea what this could be?

Something you shouldn't be putting under electrolysis obviously. Maybe pewter. Who knows?

looks like a cookie coin from the Shark Pit. Jimbob

Could be what's left of a 2 Reale. Size is about right. Also the little bit of detail around the edge looks similar.
