I went out for a few hours this morning back to the corn field where I recently found the LC. The corn stubble is still there. :P Just 5 minutes into the hunt I got a good signal and dug a large disc, which at first didn't look like much but after a bit of rubbing I could see the word "store" on it. There were plenty of signals today but gridding is hazardous at best. I also found some kind of wing nut thingy ???, a small gear thingy, and chunks of smashed lead pipe. I couldn't resist picking up a nice pink rock that was cut and once part of a foundation. The wind was chilly today and I was glad I had put on my heavier gloves.

The token reads: "The Jury - Rowe Co. The Big Store Lucky Pocket Piece" on the front.
Back reads: "Good for $1 if presented when making a purchase of $10 or over. The Jury - Rowe Co Complete Home Outfitters"

I hope it is not a rare token, as it was pretty bent and I flattened it out between two pieces of wood in a vise. :-\ I did a quick search on the Jury Rowe Co. and only found a short reference to them in a 1919 G.R. furniture record.

HH to all deer hunters and be safe,
Michiganne

Nice token Anne! Keep at it, there are bound to be more LC's out there! Or something equally as old!

Nice score on the token Anne  I found one just like it earlier this year

You're welcome:
I've seen mention of three Jury-Rowe stores (Battle Creek, Jackson and Lansing).
The Battle Creek store may have opened in 1916.

WTG Anne! Very cool token and relics. Congrats on the cornfield goodies

hey that cornfield has been pretty good to you, congrats on a cool old find Anne! gotta be some more keepers in there still....good luck !

Howard Rowe was the vice president and general manager of the Jury-Rowe Furniture Company which offered discount furniture at locations in Lansing, Jackson and Battle Creek. According to an advertisement in the 1919 Lansing City Directory, “At Jury-Rowe’s you can Always Buy 20-40%Below any Singly Operated Store”. His partner and president of the company, William J.S. Jury, lived close by at 112 W. Michigan. Howard was heavily involved in the furniture business. The Lansing Jury-Rowe Furniture Company location used to be at 112-114 W. Michigan in Lansing.

Cool token. I would say from the 20's - 40's. Congrats!
