When I reached down into the hole I could feel enough of it to know what it was...10" down.

Many thanks to all...I have only ever found a partial.J S may be Joseph Shipman whose foundry was based in Massachusetts and then Connecticut. Beautiful, big bell!

Thanks....crazy. it came out of the ground just as pictured. No cleaning required except the dirt inside.seriously that is the nicest bell i have seen on here so far. You cleaned it up well to.
