Hello everyone

Been lurking for quite a while and enjoying the posts, but now I have a question.

Went to my pickup bank today and the teller that orders my boxes of dimes
called me over. She said someone has been bringing in a bunch of dimes
and she can only order one box for me next week instead of my usual three
boxes. She said they have too many dimes on hand and had to cut my order.
Has this ever happened to any of you? They have been really nice and I didn't
want to argue with her.

Are you taking your dumps back to this same bank? If you arent then it makes no sense how many dimes they are taking in from someone else because you are always taking away what you order. If you are dumping where you order, which is a crh no-no, then of course they have to stop ordering because its costing them both in and out.

They aren't mine, I dump at a different bank. Looks like someone else is dumping
at my pickup bank.

You may have to find a new order bank. It sounds like this bank has so many dimes on hand that they can no longer justify the expense of ordering your 3 boxes per week. Yes, you are taking away what you order and not adding to their surplus, but why should they pay to order boxes that they don't need? It sounds like the vault teller/branch manager (whomever was ordering the coins for you) was doing you a favor, but can no longer do so because of their surplus of coins. Its not your fault, but the bank isn't doing anything wrong either. Just get them from somewhere else.

I've had similar experiences with one of my supply banks in regards to not being able to order coins because of their quantity on hand. This bank is part of a nationwide chain and according to the head teller, they are told by "Corporate" what they can have in stock. She has even had to return coins from the vault because they said they were overstocked. I remember reading somewhere recently that the Federal Reserve tells the banks how much total money they can have on hand.

Find a different bank and make them into your dump bank....Matt
