Hello all.

Saturday afternoon I went back to the wooded area where I found the 1855 Half Dime a few weeks ago. It was muddy so I tried the creek for a while with no luck. I started making my way up the hill away from the creek and finally got a nice signal that turned out to be the Merc. I continued my way up the hill and got another really good signal. It wasn’t deep so I thought it MIGHT be a clad quarter, but as I pushed the dirt away I could see the silver rim of a quarter size coin.

I started spraying it with some water and eventually could tell it was my first SLQ. :hello2:

Here they are cleaned up. I don’t always post the more common silver coins I find, but since this was my first SLQ, I made an exception. :laughing7:

SLQ's are always a great find, and having a date makes it even better. Congrats on your first- the best looking coin ever made IMHO.

Thanks everyone.

I have to admit. I derive some satisfaction from finding silvers in places others haven't thought to look or didn't want to put in the effort. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have an early house to hunt with a nice easy yard, but it's fun finding silver in out of the way places.

It's a great find! I am running my fingers over your SLQ and maybe some luck will rub off [emoji6]as I have never found one of these pretty ones!

woww what a nice coin grats it looks so nice
