I've been a cabinet maker for 40+ years so I recognized it right away.

Could it be as old as 1800's?

Is it steel or iron? I have the exact cutting head set you show, and this is not a part of it and it wouldn't fit or work in it. This is wedge shaped as well and the ones shown are not. I also have an industrial 4 head moulder and so custom millwork and have never seen a cutter knife that looked like that. It's also very dull and not machined like a moulder knife would be.

I believe it to be Steel, because everything Iron I find at this site is rusted. I am no expert on metals, so would you agree that it is steel?
