Yep, that's horse. Nice detail, for a beach find. :occasion14:

Your going to reconstruct something from that spot..LOL. nice one.

Gator, beachcomber, are either of you guys divers? I know you are both in the same area, and I know that diving off that beach would probably be really rewarding.... That is usually the case here on the west coast fl. I know if I were you, I would.

I do a bit of diving. Its hard to get good vis. Up close to the beach here on the east coast. I have had luck around Venice beach and the peace river. I'm not sure but I belive bechcombers spot....if it is where I think it is....is dredge material from a couple miles offshore. I don't want to give out info on "her" honey hole but I do alot of fossil hunting in the same county.

Old Age, I don't dive nor do I even know how to snorkel! And right now, with the army corp of engineers draining the Lake into everything,
the vis is very bad according to others I have spoken to. Yes Gator and I are in the same city actually and he has also had some good finds.
I heard 2 weeks ago a someone found a partial horse jaw. Some of it is dredge material from off shore, the rest I heard was trucked in
from another county so it is a mix of stuff. It's fun though, never know what you will find!

Yes I was surprised at the tooth pattern how good it looked once I cleaned it off.

Hey Gator, I have enough to rebuild a turtle so now I am working on a horse!! LOL!

Oh, if it is dredge material, then you probably won't find anything diving. Sounds like a cool beach, looks like the fossils are not as worn as Venice material.

I personally prefer fossil diving, but it looks like that site is great for just surface hunting.

HH! :occasion14:

Beachcomber.... an army of turtles I know..LOL.

I did find two other things though other than turtle and horse. Found leg bones to the camel llama and a fragment to a mammoth tooth, both exciting because...they are NOT turtle! LOL!

Old age, like your avatar better than the other one. I noticed you also use a BH machine. This morning, my BH Pioneer was picking up signals from small thin silvery fish that were dead in the meager shell piles! I thought I had a hit, then another hit and when I saw the little fish, I moved them and then, no more signal!

Beachcomber: thanks I like it too. You should get an avatar! That's odd your BH thought the fish was metal.... Maybe the fish swallowed a fish hook or something. I have a BH quicksilver, I love it, and it works perfect for me.

Mabey mineral content in the fish? Iron? Mercury? High sensitivity huh.

The detector works great! It was just odd it picked up those skinny little silvery fish. One of those actually got INTO my dang flip flop this morning
when I was shooting video of juvenile sharks too close to shore. I posted 3 pics under My Daily Snap Shot. (of the sharks not of my flip flop)

Shark? Sounds cool. Post the pics and video for us!

At high tide I've watched the Sharks chase the bait fish up the beach with a wave and have to roll back into the water after the wave receded.

OldAge the video will take some time, it needs to be edited so i can put up just the shark thrashing. Gator yes there were several chasing the mullet, it was just so cooll to see it in person! Heard the sharks are milling aorund our coast now, so divers and snorkelers are wary.

Awesome, looking forward to seeing it.

I just put up under My Daily Snapshot, a really short video with pics of loggerhead turtle hatchlings coming out of their nest. Shark video in works,
a LOT more ocean than shark, so it needs mega editing!
