Not my typical find, but that's what makes this one fun. Something I enjoy about this hobby is learning the history associated with the finds. I did a bit of reading about the Tootsie Car co but couldn't find this model. Judging from similar cars, I would put this in the late 30's - early 40's?

I did a cleaning and wax job while I was home alone. Now my wife is asking me why I don't wash and wax our cars...

So Scrappy digs more modern stuff (Like Me) ; Cool Car .
You reckon the paint is Gone, I'd assume it is.

I keep all mine also, too bad they had a Steele axle I appreciate the ones that come up with all 4 wheels still attached.

Congrats! I love finding old toy cars. They're always a nice surprise and a nice find to break up the usual coins, etc.. I found a 50's Tootsie Toy under an old willow tree and could imagine some little boy playing under that tree on a hot day over half a century ago. I find speculating what people were doing when they dropped/lost their item to be one of the most rewarding aspects of metal detecting. Sometimes our finds represent someone's bad day, but on occasion, they paint a picture of what life was like in the past or what we remember from our own childhood.

Haha! Smittyman's speedometer is a sundial and his drivers license number is a single digit!
