Hello everyone. Was looking through the redbook and decided to make a list of coins likely to rise in value based on my research. All coins you can purchase now for low costs. Since your the only people i would show this to i spent extra time rechecking my research. (in order from least likely of the 10 to most likely of the 10) Here it goes!...

#10. 1866 with motto variety 4 seated liberty half dollar in VF-20 to higher grades. Current price $50 +
- First in the series with motto. Over past couple years prices have been increasing rapidly for this exact coin. With silver on the rise, it should keep rising.

#9. 1723 half penny, in all grades. Current price $35 +
- A very early date with an odd denomination. Very prices in higher grades already and the lower grades have been rising fast since last year.

#8. 1815 capped bust quarter dollar. Lower grades. Current price $30 +
- First date in the series! AG-3 costs $30 G-4 costs $75. Large price changes for only 1 grade higher. AG-3 value should increase considering value of other grades.

#7. 1883 shield nickel, all grades. Current price $15 +
- Last date in series, major error (1883 3 over 2) also exists for the same date and is worth much more. Major price increasments in past year.

#6. 1814 classic head large cent. Current price $18 +
- Last date in series, in AG-3 costs only $18, in only F-12 costs $250. Becoming scarcer and scarcer each year!!! A must purchase.

#5. 1837 Liberty seated dime, low grades. Current price $30 +
- First variety, very rare in higher grades which are becomming scarcer and scarcer each year. Only $30 in G-4, VF-20 is worth $260.

#4. 1979 P wide rimmed Susan B. Anthony dollar, high grades. MS-65 current price $12
- First date in the series, scarce error for a low price. Can get in MS-65 for only $12. In 10 years should be much pricier!

#3. 1908 Indian head gold quarter eagle. All grades, mainly lower ones. VF-20 current price $160 +
- First of the series, is more pricy in higher grades as apposed to the other dates. With gold prices expected to rise this is a must have investment.

#2. 2006 S silver proof set. Current price about $30 +
- Made of silver!!! The 2005 issue has already gone up nearly 10 dollars. For all this proof silver at this low price the set is a major buy now!

#1. 1878, 7 over 8 clear double feathers, all grades. Current price VF-20 $22 +
- First date in the series (only with 7 over 8 clear double) very pricy already in higher grades. Made of silver. A must purchase!!!

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED READING THIS AND YES, I AM SERIOUSE, THESE WILL RISE IN VALUE IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS!!!

I'd like to have ANY coin but pennies.....I hate pennies.....getting to be like pull tabs.....

Ummm that #1, can I assume that might be for a Morgan Dollar? If not what then? ;)

IMHO The way to make money in Coins is...... "To buy the highest grade of KEYS you can afford" There will always be demand!!

Buy Slabbed coins when you can. If you are not experienced in grading coins, the difference of a grade or two can turn future profits into well into the future profits. Not to mention identifying altered, cleaned, & counterfeit coins!

Buy a copy of Photograde, & study it.

PS: You're list is obviously well thought out & IMHO, Looking good!

Lots of Luck!!

Yes, lol i forgot to write that. It is in fact a morgan silver dollar. Thanks for looking.

Affordable coins for those with a limited budget. Thanks for posting. Good informative.

This is a well thought out and researched post, hats off! We need more of these. I would not argue a single pick.

I would like to offer four "honorable" mentions. These two may not even be in the Top 20 but no doubt deserve careful study.....

1982 No Mint Mark Dime....extremely cheap and who knows how many got out...

Wisconsin Statehood Error Coin...might be the 1955 Double Die of the future?!

1916 Standing Liberty Quarter....already outrageous but getting harder and harder to find, even in the lowest of grades. Around $4,000 in the lowest grade but I believe more low grades are available than better grades. Collectors are simply holding onto to this one if they can get it. Seems like as more of the low grades are submitted for slabbing, the grading companies are more lenient on it. Just not enough of them around to compare them to each other, not to mention, the SLQ's fall into a "different" type of grading criteria because of the overall high relief features.

1893 S Morgan Dollar....gone up $700 in six months in G/AG condition. I haven't even studied the better grade values. This was a $1,500 coin earlier this year.

I have to mention this one too.. I've been buying them for years. Look at the 1927-S Standing Liberty quarters... there was less of them made than either the 32-D or the 32-S Washingtons yet you can buy them for a fraction of the price :o

Thanks for the post. LoL, lots and lots do I have to learn, but a great place to learn here.

Here's one 1913-s Barber quarter has the lowest mintage of any coin in the last 100 years. Only 40, 000 minted even less the the 1901-s barber quarter 72,000 minted, 1916 Standing liberty quarter 52,000 minted.

Nice job there, Cool. I'm afraid that the only one of those I have is the 2006-s silver proof set. I got 3 of those from the Mint earlier this year. However, I did sell a roll of '79 Susan B's a couple years ago. Got only face value for it. No idea if they were Type 1 or 2. Well, c'est la vie, eh. Keep up the good work.
