Yes, I am alive!!!! Health problems and continuing disability have kept me occupied, but it is time to start posting on tnet again. These were found last week but close enough. Here is a link to my post on the area from last August that gives a little more detail and a geology link: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,100902.0.html Enjoy....Ryan

Ryan,

Good to see you have survived the winter.

Those are some nice diggins, get ready to go back up there though.
we have to make that trip together.

Anytime you are ready, until it gets too hot! Anytime until mid June is Ok, but after that it is pretty unbearable unless you are a scorpion or a lizard. I still want to make it down to your area, but driving more than 2 hours is still a problem for me with my health problems. Good to hear from you old friend...Ryan

You are welcome here anytime my friend.

we have the same problems you have when it comes to the heat.
Some of us old die hards have figured out how to find shade out here and still effectively follow a trail.

Any chance of getting into some nice Bixbyite xls on matrix??
Some of those to go with the topaz is a good goal to set out with.

Thom

Bixbyite is on a different part of the mountain than I usually go, but there is no problem going after some, and going after garnet also. We would definately have to take a few days to go after different types of specimens.

Sorry to hear about health problems. Hope you are doing alright. Nice finds :icon_sunny:

That Mt. produces some spectacular stuff.
A fellow could spend a lifetime collecting the mineralogy and still not have it all.
What I want from that location and what I'll probably end up with are probably two different things.
Both represent a lot of work. LOL

A really nice red Beryl with a topaz on the same matrix is probably a pipe dream
But my overall goal.
Right now I would be happy with the chance to hunt with my buddy Ryan.

A few things to get out the woodshop door and I'll get in touch with you.
BTW The cell # won't work for a couple days as this Husky puppy I have at the house literally ate the phone this morning.... l
LOL...
sigh.

I'll have it replaced with a new phone in a couple days. It has to come from ATT.

Great array of precious stone finds!
I'm sorry to hear about your health woes. Dam, it's Hell getting older.
Live long enough and it's one thing for certain everyone has to deal with. :)

Looks like you are having some good success! I am glad to hear you can at least get out and look for stuff, hope you get better soon!

Man, that's some nice crystal! I went about a month ago and came home empty handed. My daughter who's handicapped had better luck with some clear crystals in the old stream bed. I did meet a fellow who probably had 200-300 crystals he found over the weekend, the largest perhaps 3/4 inch long. I've been going there over 2 years and only have a few nice ones to show for my trouble!
