Went hiking a trail that supposedly had about 6 saw mills within a half mile stretch.

There was plenty evidence of buildings, but those pictures did not focus too well.
First find was a flat decorative button, then 5mins later a 1850 Half Dime at 7 inches
that had to be chipped out of the rocky trail.

Soon after the half dime another 7 in signal had me digging again about 6ft from
my last two targets to retrieve an 1832 LC, then another button with a checkerboard design,
and soon after that another LC but too green and crusted to read.

So over all, 2 buttons, 2 LC`s and a half dime. It is`t too worn, but it has
a lot of nicks and dings in it, . . probably from the rocky trail.

Thanks for looking,
Enjoy, . .Pro-

I did encounter a black bear once, my dog whistle scared him off, I always carry it in the woods. . . . Do not use a duck call, that has the reverse effect.

The trail is in a deep gully and follows the stream with rock wall steep ledges on both sides, heavy flooding was their demise since they kept their mills at such low elevations, . . and certain mills are on some maps and not on others. I think i was pretty lucky to find what i found that hasn`t washed away over the years.

Nice going on the early recoveries from the mills. I have two mills just a few hundred feet from my house, only a stones throw from the corner marker on the property. Not been able to detect it a whole lot time and effort but the perimeter of the mill pond has me intrigued as there's been activity around the pond for 200+yrs now.
