So far this site has produced three Colonial Coppers including the 1781 George III in photo. We found two of the buttons with the holes and the last trip produced the decorative button with the gold. There are no markings on the backs of the buttons. Looking for any information on the identidy of the buttons or advice on cleaning the gold button.

congrats on your finds

The trailer park is sitting on some old ground as you can testify by your finds :icon_sunny:

Incredible finds! I love stories of folks finding Very old items in spots that at first glance seem new.

So, I'd love to hear more of the story about how you found the site there.

In terms of the gold gilded button, it appears that it is as clean as it will get--but you will certainly be able to give the gilding more sparkle with Aluminum Jelly.

Here's a link to a button cleaning post of mine:

Here is the pick of the king george I found in the trailer park. Thanks for the opportunity to detect in such an old spot!! There have been a lot of buttons and coins come out of there...not to mention the trigger guard. Those buttons are really sweet!!! The ole XLT did good!! Keep up the good work!

Nice KG III. Those buttons are also top notch. I'd be going back.

Congrats on the superb finds you guys. The shankmiester will no longer be shankable after Tuesday because I will be retiring the Ace 250 from relic hunting and arming myself with the Tesoro Tejon or hopefully the mac daddy Fisher F-75. So watch out boys.

Nice Irish and neat buttons. The buttons are as good as they'll get, leave em. All that would happen is you'd strip the green and have a black and gold button.

That is cool. Would you care to tell us more about your discovery of the early American artifacts in your trailer park?

The decorative buttons you found are nice examples. The designs on them are relatively intricate.

Maybe there was a trailer park there back in 1805. Except I think they called them "villages" back then.

My first Loyalist buttons were behind one.

You know the ole saying... nothing wrong with a little trailer trash if you're digging Colonial!
