Having trouble with this thing I dug up. Is it the remains of a toy, a clock or something else?

Part of a spring driven toy car, truck, train, etc.Put the vehicle on the ground, pulling it back loads the spring, letting it go and the vehicle will move forward.

Sure looks like a wind up toy to me. If the wheel thingy's are not plastic then probably pre WW2. I'm sure some toy people will chime in. Good luck.

I'm going to guess a Bing Wind-Up train or very similar.
