Mayo had charge of his nephews 8 year old son today. We turned it into a woodchip totlot training seminar. The kid brought out his BH Fast Tracker and some good attitude.

Getting a beep next to a metal post in the schoolyard out back, I instinctively told him he was too close to the post. He admonished my short-sightedness by recovering a large silvery ear ring.

In my defense, well there is no defense, I got schooled by a third-grader! Good for him and he did just fine in the clad count, for a beginner he did very well in fact from pinpointing to recovery.

Now if anyone wants to adopt a near-50 md'ing has-been and reschool him, lemme know!

Hahaha, awexome Tim. That was ME last April :)

Wish we had a picture of that... not the earring , but your face when it came up. :laughing7:
Great story Tim!

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Tim for being so patient with and helping out my great nephew!
I know Zack had a great time finding all his goodies and he even learned instinctively how to get someone else to do the digging! He wound up with about $1.40 in clad, a large silver earring, a toy motorcycle, a couple of rivets or eyelets from shoes, and a small amount of the usual foil.

But even better than that are the memories he will have of his metal detecting adventure with Tim and myself! Watch out for more finds from him in the future!

Great story, Tim.

Just think how much treasure we'd all find looking through the eye's of a child. . . again :icon_sunny:
