Here is a recent find from Harris County Tx. Its a cool little San Patrice point. Its has a deep flute on one side, its been worked down some but its in great condition, and its still sharp with a needle point.
The material is pretty unique for this area, translucent, sort of speckled chert, I was told by someone that it comes from La Grange TX. Josh

That is a neat little point and some cool material ... congratz on a nice find ~ Jimmy

Morning,

Too late, Cannonman.....I've seen it. Nice point Josh and nice material. I like the dark flecks.....I have a couple made of a material I call rootbeer flint.....about the color of a beer bottle or some a little lighter shade of yellow. Much of it is agatized wood...not exactly sure what yours is made from, but its VERY nice. San Pats are my favorite, always a pleasure to see a nice one.

Happy Hunting,

VERY SWEET PIECE THANKS FOR THE PIC

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Reworked but still a beauty.

Molly. :)

Yeah reworked a lot of times. I bet the original knapper liked the material too. And kept reworking the point till it was lost or too small, and/or found some other material that was a better feel. Very nice.

Morning,

Perhaps reworked, perhaps not. San Patrice points are small to begin with. There isnt much room to rework most of them and have any point left at all. But good material is always used to the point of exhaustion. Daltons and plainviews really get reworked sometimes. A lot of the San Pats I find have nice edge work, I am sure they were resharpened...sometimes when they break they will make an end scraper out of them...what I call a blunt.

Keep those eyes open, Josh.
