I detected for bout 20 minutes this evening, nothing notable just a bunch of non ferrous odds and ends but what I did find is (I think) the location of a trash pit/privy. It's in the side yard and considering this is a 1700's built farm house I knew there was bound to be one somewhere near the house. It's about 25 yds away from the house. I dug 18 non ferrous targets in an area about 8' square. outside of those borders the signals drop off considerably. I dug a whole bunch of stuff, old light fixtures, shell casings, unidentified bits of brass and copper, melted lead, and there were often more than one target per hole and almost every hole had broken glass. most targets were down around 6" or thereabouts. The landlord will be in town to inspect the property in a couple months, after she leaves (she lives out of state) I'm going to commence digging. Curious as to what I might find, and how deep it actually is.
