Actually brought tears to my eyes I laughed so much!
I once lived on that beach and in that immediate area (Eastwind St. just south of the Venice pier).
I would also be crying today if I had missed that cache while MD-ing that beach for years.

Cute prank, but it could have had dangerous results. Did you see how fast people bum rushed that trunk trying to get a piece. I guess they were lucky it wasn't the real thing, or several people would have been hurt.

The gal with the walkie- talkie trying to shut it down looked real to me and it was real for all the chanting youngsters. I wonder was seeds were planted for future treasure hunters, but inevidably someone is always trying to spoil the fun!
