Road trip south, to escape the late May snowfalls still hitting us here in Leadville. Passed the supposed area of the "Lost cave of gold" looking south of Del Norte, at Marble Mountain, and then to "Treasure Falls" supposedly in the vicinity of the lost French gold cache on Wolf Creek pass. Marble mtn is the snowy peak in cloudcover on the far right of the pic. We went further southeast to McPhee Resevoir and accidentally stumbled upon anisazi ruins, right next to our campsite. There were almost no official signs except two, weathered BLM signs. We felt super lucky to have stumbled on to these sites.
