One of our customers found some ancient artifact but we do not know what it could be. The dimensions of the object are 5 x 4 x 3 cm (1.2 x 1.6 x 2 inches). It was found near Kermanshah in Iran in about 1.6 m (63 inch) depth.

Does someone know what it is? And what it was used for?

Copper? Bronze?

Any additional photos?

I haven't seen one exactly like it, but I suspect it is a harness ring from 1st millenium B.C.

I agree with the above & think its a pre-Roman horse strap junction.

It's made from bronze and the only photo we got. Thanks for the ideas. A harness ring or horse strap junction makes sense.

makes sense/is correct!
