I spent the holiday hunting a kayak park, but gave up after a couple hours because the water was running too deep and fast. We have some serious flooding issues in NW Arkansas right now. So I took my handful of found change and several dozen bottle caps back to town and stopped by a thrift store, where I found something I thought was interesting. It's a nice bronze belt buckle for an event I've not heard of. Anyone know of it or participated?

It was too good to pass up for $3, so I considered it a good day overall. :laughing7: Good hunting to you all!

That is pretty cool. A hunting competition? I wonder how that works? How do they judge them? Planted items or fresh finds? I would wear it every time I went hunting. Thumbs up!

That's cool! Has a Texas emblems on it...wonder if it was something Garrett sponsored back in the day?

Agree with BLK HOLE, it does look like a Garrett sponsored event.

Found this...

Jason found it first...

Wow - so this buckle is 40 years old?? It says it's from the first one, so that's what it would suggest. It's in new condition, so I wouldn't have expected it to be that old. Very interesting - thanks much for the info!

Argh - ok, that's a miss by me. I saw Texas but didn't think to look close enough to see the dates. Thanks to you, I'm happier with my find though! :icon_thumright:
