Treasure hunt competitions

It's been years since I've gone to any treasure hunt competitions. I know the price of silver has gone through the roof. Thus competition hunts may not be happening because of this. I have gone to several competition hunts many years ago. One was even held at Clearwater beach as a hurricane was passing the west coast of Florida. I never won any big prizes, but it was the fun of being out with people that enjoyed the hobby as much as I did. Still I'm curious if there are any treasure hunt competitions this year, would be really interested in attending one this year.

No, I don't look like that anymore, see attached picture. My scoopzilla has gone to the recycle bin. it was a beast and could go deeper than any scoop out there on the market, even today.

They used to put on a beach competition hunt in Daytona Beach. I attended 2 or three of them in the past. But haven't seen them advertise anything in last 10 years. If someone were to put on a hunt, they could use tokens and the prizes could be metal detectors, rather than using silver coins. They still would get hundreds of people to participate.
