Tree - 1, My House - 0

This is the worst of five trees down on my property during the recent storm. Over 100' tall, the top was loaded with snow. It broke off at about 12' off the ground and was more than 24" in diameter at the break point. Staying with family until we get the damage inspected and know its safe.

OUCH........... From the picture it looks like the tree is laying pretty flat with the roof. Hopefully only minimal damage has occurred.

This reminds me of the ice storm we had in MA last year. Trees everywhere... I know how you feel mountainplayer.

Been thru bad ice storm once our tree went, in the yard only, took out power lines! So glad everyone is ok! Prayers that its not bad damage!

Thanks to everyone who responded with condolences and concerns to this post. I really appreciate the support.

We have been out of our home since Wed, Jan 20. Bounced around for a while, and then ended up at one of the local motels. It's been a whirlwind of activity and my free time has pretty much been wiped out. I just returned from meeting with our new landlords. Our homeowner insurance is paying to put us up in a fully furnished home until we can move back into ours.

My whole family was in the house when the three hit. Thankfully, no one was hurt! We were all kind of walking around jibbering like idiots for a couple of hours (you should have heard me on the phone talking to my insurance agent...I'm sure he thought I'd been hitting the bourbon bottle) but realized pretty quickly how lucky we are and how easily a broken house can be made right.

The tree companies are going to be getting a lot of business from me come spring. And, the price of firewood in my town is going to plummet this year.
