Tropical Island Detecting! Tips/Advice/Finds!

I am moving to Dominica (not the Dominican Republic) this year, and was wondering if anyone has had any luck inland island metal detecting? I know there is a lot of history in the tropics, and often it is hard to tell where people have lived. Anyone have any tips, or had any luck metal detecting islands before? What do you look for? Any advice would be great! While you are at it, show off your finds if you have any. I am very interested.

I have contacted the consulate and they gave a very vague "yes" to whether I could bring a MD. So I am planning on bringing a cheap one for the first little bit until I get a feel for the "local laws". I know this island doesn't get hit much at all, so I hope I have some luck. Being prepared will be even better!
