Hard to really say. Probably lean towards no because it's a lot more likely to dig a brass one, and more towards no if the shank is/was pewter.

EDTA..Ethelyne Diamine Tetra Acetic Acid can be used to treat Pewter that has compact and surface corrosion, but that one might be a bit far gone so nothing to lose really.
