Two 1800’s coins

Found two coins on old unplanted farm today. Started off with a 1898 Indian Head Penny and ended with a 1866 Shield Nickel. My first! Glad I was able to make the I.D. considering the Shield Nickel is one from the earlier years and not in greatest condition.

I have only got on Shield Nickel and it had rays. I ruin it trying to clean it. Big lesson learned. Glad I took pictures of it before. I JUST HAD TO SEE A DATE SMH. I was so green back then. Live and definitely learn. Been detecting for 3.5 years learning is key.

1865 for sure, awesome save. I’m surprised they are not bent up from them using the disks to turn the solid over the years.
