The first button is bigger than a regular civil war coat button and had no back mark...the second is a cuff size button with a wolf or something on the front..extra quality backmark ...anyone ever seen one of these or know Anything about either of them

The one with the animal is definitely a sporting button. I believe they were popular throughout the 1800s, someone should be able to narrow down the date range. The other is clearly some kind of Navy button, unfortunately I don't know what kind exactly.

The button showing a droop-necked eagle is a US Marine Corps button,

Time-dating your no-backmark US Marines button:
You say it is bigger than a civil war eagle button. The largest pre-20th-Century US Marines button was 23mm. So, if your button's diameter is larger than 23mm it is from the 20th-Century.

US Marines buttons had a "black finish" on them from the World War One era to 1923. I can't quite tell whether your un-cleaned button has some "black finish" remaining in the horizontal-lined background, or not. If it doesn't, it is most probably post-1923.

Depending on the backmark, its in the 1850-1900 range - Fox Head (sports/hunting button)
