Bubba and I hit a mid 1800's house on 21 acres today that I had gained permission recently to detect. They owner said some people have used their "Geiger counters" on the property in the past though. :-\ This property is just beautiful, like out of a magazine. Miniature horses in the pastures, and turkeys, geese, ducks, and chickens roaming the yard. Oh yeah, I almost forgot Peety the old dachshund who kept trying to hump my arm. :laughing9: (I think Bubba was jealous)
I dug some coins but nothing silver and not even a wheat! I found a few relics out in the horse pasture up close to the dirt road out front. A lantern piece, piece of a pocketwatch, and two CW 3-ringers!
CW troops went through this county after the battle of Bentonville, but I'm not sure how close to this property. :dontknow:
The VIN tag, which I thought would be from a tractor, turned out to be from an Izuzu! Talk about finding junk! ;D

Can anyone ID these two CW bullets? They are taller then the .58 3-ringers I usually find. There is more space between the base & first ring. :dontknow:

I plan on making the owners a shadowbox if I can find enough relics. They are excited to see everything I dig. :icon_thumleft:

That's all folks,
MM

nice job on the civil war relics. Do you buy property to hunt or do you just pay the owner to hunt their property?

DF,
If I bought property to hunt, or even paid to hunt, I'd be broke quick. ;D
I just use my flyers, references, my shadowboxes, smooth talking, and good looks to get permission.
O.K. so maybe 4 out of 5. ;D

I also have a few of those bullets, must be Austrian or German Prussian! Nice post and HH, Mike

Thanks Mike.
