TWO MOONS NORTH = blood moons? maybe , maybe not

ya i know its just a legend , not even sure you could find a solid source for it . i mean ive read that they supposedly traveled two moons north with the treasure , fleeing from Cortes and company . yada yada .
what i do find interesting is there was a tetrad in 1519-1520....if you google that about 32 pages come up about end of the world stuffs cause we are having one this year too .

When four consecutive lunar eclipses are all total eclipses, the group is known as a tetrad. The following tetrads occur during this century:

i find it interesting although i am not sure why i do ,that between 1600 and 1900 there were no tetrads.
i guess there are 8 of them in the 21 century but im wondering if two moons north means something more
to a culture that worshiped the moon along with a host of other things ?

The fighting was ferocious


and Spanish left the city and much of the treasure with their dead in the causeway ////////////////////and the legend says the Aztec took and hid what remained and along with the gold the Spanish left behind and even some that had not been seen yet and they walked for two moons north ........back to the lands the tribes had came from...

so after june 30 , 1520 sometime or

so the last eclipes of the 1519-1520 tetrad happens on sept 6 1520///// two months after notche triste . the next lunar eclipes happens march 25 1521,but it is not a total one (see list on next post)
so in simple terms, the second total eclipes , after notche triste happens approx 3 years later , .. if there is any possiblilty that the two moons north could referance two blood moons , how far could they have traveled in that amount of time i know its just a legend but we can talk about if ya like .

Steve please forgive my last reply . it should have said "possibly" not probably . my phone sometimes types just whatever it wants and not what i meant.lol Interesting you bring up Kanab , cause this year marks the 100 year anniversary of Freddy Crystal coming to town . i have heard before, that you said his story was the first of the "guy with a map" type of tales to surface. don't know about the treasure magazine stories about him , but i have several others . like the Saturday evening post one , and the one the ole gal wrote with the LDS twist at the end . it is rumored that he told the tale of the Spanish conquest far better than I . there might be something to the myths , kanab for one , the supers, the Mohave desert ,Vicky peak, heck even by your place . if that treasure exists i have a hard time thinking they would have put it in just one place . i even really like the little bit i have heard about near silver city , something about stairs that lead to nowhere, now that part is familiar.

Yeah, those are some steps cut into a near vertical rock cliff somewhere out in the Map Cave area. A couple guys I know (one's deceased now) found them in the late '70's while on horseback. It went straight up about 30 or 40 feet and ended. They were curious about them but didn't climb them because there was no cave, overhang, etc. at the top - just more rock wall. Years later, the second guy tried to take a friend back to see the steps, but he couldn't find them. He thinks there might be a 'sealed off door' up there, but I think that there may be a vantage point from the top step that shows something not visible from the ground.

i wonder if there is a sealed up door near those steps? i would use caution if there is , the sealed up tunnels that crystal found were booby trapped . nothing fancy like you read in treasure books , but he would have died in the tunnels if he had been alone . as he dug out the sand, a big rock had been placed off to the side and above , that came down on him and pinned him there in the tunnels . we use to have cowhide Adams notes from a national geographic interview , but i think my buddys ex wife ended up with that stuff after the split . cowhide said freddy would have died if he had been alone.

Possible, I guess, but if someone went to the trouble of sealing and disguising a cave opening, it seems to me they would have also removed the steps leading to them.

The "two moons" legend is an interesting one because outside of treasure magazines I can't find a single confirmation of that particular thread of the Aztec legend. I'd love to track any source of that information back before the 1940s or so when the treasure and Western magazines began running it. From all my research it looks like Montezuma's Treasure was in the public conscious since the 1890s but where the "two thousand warriors" and "two moons North" pieces enter the equation is a real mystery.

HI steve who knows , as i'm sure you know there are lots of" Moqui"
steps in the southwest . the thing about the Johnson canyon stuff is Fredddy's cave is not at the top of the steps . its maybe 60 yards away from where they start up the ledge .and back in the day i think there was only one set leading to a small overhang , but basically "nothing". and who knows for sure what to believe after 100 years , but the thing that is pretty consistent in the stories about Freddy is that those steps were on his map. hmmmmm

That's a great observation, and maybe the best explanation for mystery steps - an unmistakable sign to look for. "Search the canyon for carved steps that lead to nowhere. Then ..." Makes more sense than, "Walk up and down the canyon until the sun is just right,and try to visualize a rock that looks like a poodle ..."

I absolutely believe the legend that they went north for two months. That is exactly the legend the Aztecs would create once Morono II (Moctezuma II, whom I have labeled The Moron based on all the stupid things he did) was dead, and intelligent kinfolk took over.

Hey, everybody, look, we are going north! Pass it on! North! Tell everyone, North!

No way the Aztecs would openly take a billion dollars worth of gold in plain sight anywhere.

However, Kanabite has done exactly what I advocate. He has formulated a theory that the gold went north to unknown places, and is working on that theory. So, though I have the exact opposite theory, I cannot criticize his decision. And, it does keep y'all out of our hair.

When I actually began to take my theory seriously was when I realized the difference between a vague legend, and consistent oral tradition in a specific place, with all supporting evidence being totally consistent with it.
