Skipped work today and hit low tide near where I found the the seated dime on Saturday. Didnt find much at first except for a toasted war nickel and various bits of lead. Did not keep all of it. Worked my way down the beach right along the tide line and got a real faint signal that turned out to be a deep 1847 Half Dime:headbang: A little further along I got another nice signal and out popped a Carson City Dime:hello2:

Skipping work to hit low tide makes for a fun day. Finding some great finds makes it even better. Grats and thanks for sharing. May there be many more from your hunting area and some GOLD. HH ALL

Great saves. Any luck on a date for the CC? :occasion14:

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Awesome finds...best part is that you skipped work lol. really good saves!

Very nice - congrats! Haven't hunted the ES rivers for years but used to love hunting the old landings by boat.

Nice going on some old silvers. I would kill to find those. Awesome!!

Seated coins...in my dreams. You're a lucky guy. Gary

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Some real nice coin saves. Congrats.

WTG on the saves. Are those Dimes fakes, I always thought silver turned black in saltwater.

Slightly brackish water. Theycan come out completely black or completely silver but usually some black is present

Super hunt!!! Congrats on the sweet silver :icon_thumleft:

Wish I could skip work for the day. Great bunch of finds. Those crusty seated coins could use a 30 second, low voltage electrolysis zap. I've done it to coins that look like that and the crusty layer will fall right off. Just don't over do it or it will get a matte pitted appearance.

Just the thought of strolling the coastline, swinging a coil, sounds like a great day to me -- to find these pretty silvers on top of that is all the better! Congrats to ya mate! :skullflag: :occasion14:

I have done the aluminum foil and hot saltwater treatment on some of them and even that can leave them pitted. Even old seateds found in some of my fields can have similar tarnish. I kinda like keeping some of the patina on them rather than over cleaning them. Before and after on one of them
