Two round carvings

Found these two round carvings on a rock, what do they mean? one is 11cm and the other is 7cm

I would say you're looking at a limestone escarpment which has seen a lot of water running over it in the past, creating natural erosion holes like this:

@Red-Coat Thanks for the input but those are actual signs, got a few more signs scattered around two hills and this is the one and only that comes like this in the entire area, the area was inhabited by Romans, Jews and older civilizations.

These two rounds come on the roof of what seems to be a filled with dirt small cave, been told that the sign means a small cave that leads into a bigger cave but I'm still trying to get other opinions on the matter as to from where is the entrance exactly, if it was directly under the signs or a few steps in another direction.
 

And you know them to be signs... how? They look to be completely natural erosion features to me.
 

They resemble Native American bedrock mortars.
