I'm trying to find out what the Caduceus with the thistles represent on these shoulder boards. They were removed from a U.S. Coast Guard uniform. I can't find any photos or references to the "thistles" on either side of the bottom of the caduceus.

Also, anone have an idea as to the age of these? I know they aren't too old but don't know exactly, Vietnam? Thanks.

Cool, thanks. I knew what the striping at the bottom was I just couldn't find the "physician's asst." symbol anywhere. I have too many Military info. sites saved and not organized correctly. One of these days...
