So I've been living in this house for about a year now and today something told me to give the attic a closer look so I grabbed a flashlight and went up to see what I could find. I had always thought the house was built around the 20's it's a 4 square style with a cool 4 window attic in NEPA. All the floors are original hardwood but there are places where the boards were tore up for electrical work. Nothing was sitting there in the open for me to find but when I shined the light under the floor and peaked my head in I started finding some truly amazing things. First was a medal from the 1911 reunion of the elk lodge in Atlantic City. Then an old navy button and an amazing 45 star American flag! It's 55 by 34 inches and I want to get it framed to preserve it asap (any thoughts on value would be appreciated though it won't be sold). Then a pack of smokes and some amazing hand painted signs the last of which had a note from the original homeowner to his wife on the back which best I can tell must be over 100 years old and explains that he sold hand painted signs to local businesses. It was a great day found a ton of history about the people who used to call my house home. Any opinions or insight is appreciated, thanks.
