It's been awhile since I've been out detecting with work getting in the way. I did manage to get out this week for a few hours so I decided to play under one of my sand boxes. Sandbox is what i call my sandy soil areas. While detecting i use trees and other things to mark what i find on the surface and a few inches below, then later i go back and i sift within the parameters of my better finds.
these pics are just one example of what I was able to find using my double dip technique.
locations i thought i had completely depleted years ago have now become fresh new sites with a variety of new finds! in a world that seems to be literally "losing ground" i have now opened myself up to new layers of previous sites and found things that are both rare and valuable.

Awesome early coppers ! Any chance you could give us some close and clear pics on those ?

Could you narrow the location down to a state or two? Interesting idea about sifting for other items of interest. I've done this is areas with a lot of targets before. Usually a lot of nails, but sometimes..!

looks like a fun day we are all playing in the sandbox no matter where we are lol Well done

Nice looking group of early coppers...……...
