With deer hunting season coming most of our hunting grounds have been shut down for a few weeks, so we managed a new permission with an unexpected outcome. We started the site with me finding a small single groove bullet, lacking patina i was not convinced we were on anything. Then the small caliber round balls started showing up, then i pulled a larger ball with "buck shot" indents, suggesting a buck n ball. Finally I pulled a standard 58cal 3 groove. Then i began finding the 58cal solid base bullets. My wife found a few small caliber balls, a large round ball, a small copper coin and a strange ornate piece of lead. We believe the coin is an indian head. My buddy managed an assortment of bullets (not pictured) and a large flat button. Today was a first for the 58cal carbine bullets and 36cal bullet.
