Unexpected Logging Road Find

I decided to detect an old logging road that has never had any houses on or near it. I was just curious what I would find on along the trail that wasn't a shotgun stamp or a brass casing :laughing7: Wasn't disappointed! From what I was able to research, it is a WWII German WHW Contribution Stickpin. Completely surprised! Maybe it was attached to someone's hunting vest? A hat? I'll never know, but super cool!

Unexpected for sure! These WHW pins were made in huge quantities but i bet very few made it over the water. And your's is in beautiful condition! Well done!
 

Yours is a WW2 German wound badge. I found one in a lake in the middle of Michigan.

Yes , I think it was in the center of a wreath??? I believe it was aluminum,tin ???
