I decided to detect an old logging road that has never had any houses on or near it. I was just curious what I would find on along the trail that wasn't a shotgun stamp or a brass casing :laughing7: Wasn't disappointed! From what I was able to research, it is a WWII German WHW Contribution Stickpin. Completely surprised! Maybe it was attached to someone's hunting vest? A hat? I'll never know, but super cool!

There could have been a POW camp there. There were lots of them all over the country during World War II. Either way, thats a great find and certainly rare for this side of the Atlantic.

I found this one back in 2015. Up in the canyons by my house and I live in so cal. I figured it might have been on some hunters rifle sling or hunting vest. 2C68390A-B417-4545-99F0-5BA9AE4F277F.jpeg

Nice find! Here's some info from another forum I am on : "These were sold during the 'VI' Tag der Wehrmacht event held all across Germany by the Winterhilfswerk. The event was on the 28th & 29th of March 1942. The NSKOV and other organizations would have helped sell these pieces but they are not connected to them whatsoever. The design is merely a coincidence...often you will see dealers will list these as being a 'NSKOV donation badge'."

It should have a number on the back which identifies the maker and would have had a pin back that resembles a safety pin.

Cool find, it would look great on my Wehrmacht tunic :laughing7:

Ccarson I like the wound badge, it would also look good on my tunic... I need to have more finds like these....

Yours is a WW2 German wound badge. I found one in a lake in the middle of Michigan.

I do not know what the original posters represents. Nice piece of history
