Hello Gang,
I found this while helping a friend clean out a garage to a new place he was renting. It was obviously left by a previous occupant.
The name on the front reads "Friedrich Ludwig Jahn."
I googled the name and found that he was considered "The father of gymnastics"
I was curious about the medal itself. There is a blemish on the very top like it may have had a thingy for being hooked to a ribbon. It appears to be brass or bronze.
Was just curious as to the age or value. I don't have any books on this subject.
If anyone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.
Thank again for any and all help,
Mike in SC
