Had fun diggin' with FortBedfordBob and DeArmittPA yesterday. Dug a lot of lead, and a fair amount of buttons. I also found a button that DeArmitt ended up digging... threatened to use the "TDI jammer button" on him after that! :laughing9: ::) ;D Maybe they will chime in with their finds.

Did have a couple of questions on the finds, I'd appreciate if anyone can help confirming the ID of a few items.

One is what I think is the tip of a ramrod?

The second is a latch - but to what? Both items look to be period correct..

Thanks for looking

super cool finds :headbang:

Nice finds M1. I dug a complete latch like that in the pic at an old homesite near a large Union camp. I believe mine is a latch from an old kitchen cabinet but who knows?? HH, Quindy.

That could be the item.... it has an iron pin in it across one end, and is filled with wood. That's what had me thinking ramrod, but I've been wrong many times before! :tongue3: Thanks!

You have a cool latch!

We don't think there was a homesite near this camp, as there is nothing showing on the map and nothing else has popped up to indicate that.

Great to see you all got out! Great finds with a great group of friends that joined you

Yep. Great guys to hunt with. :icon_thumright: The only thing that could have made it better was if my son been able to make it. :( But then again he would have wanted to take the GPX out of my hands... last time he came I ended up digging holes for him while he ran the GPX because everything was out of the range of the Etrac.

A tear runs down my face, thats beautiful, I wish I was with you!!

Now that is a great hunt! Lots of lead and brass is hard to bet. Looks like you got some good bullets. I really like the 2 Ring Prussians.
