Hi guys Im hoping someone could ID this it was in a creek easy to spot since the creek almost all red shale and i have never seen this color stone before. It fits perfectly in a have very comfortably, it was found in central NJ in hunterdon county...figured id put that there in case its a local item. ty jd

My guess it's a natural formation of flint inside the white coating.

I think its natural. I have found stones that have a natural "grip" to them. But they are cool.
 

Yep natural but if it had been found Im sure they would of made something out of it. Probably flint on the inside.
 

JD, sorry but I don't see any evidence of that stone ever being worked by man. It is a piece of naturally eroded Limestone. Very common in creeks everywhere.
 

Just a rock. I have noticed that when a post contains the qualifying phrase 'fits perfectly in the hand' or variations thereof, it is generally just a rock.
