Greetings from the Great Black.
I got out again after work today. I wanted to hit that spot again that I hit yesterday.
I had company today as my little brother wanted to see how I hunt artifacts. First I showed
him my favorite tree. It's a mighty king in any woods.



Then we got down to work. I surprised both him and I by finding a sweet Jack's Reef point.







That got me thinking about the large point I found yesterday. I assembled the Jacks that I've
found at this site as well as the Jacks and like points from its sister site.( another site about
one tenth of a mile from the first site).All the points are very thin including the big one from
yesterday. Quite a few are made of Coshocton flint as well. I may have mis identified the
large point. Its not Hopewell perhaps it's a modified Jack.

That's definitely another killer Jacks Reef Point. It looks like you've got a couple of really nice Woodland sites to hunt. I've got a Woodland site here in southern Ohio that produces points almost indentical to yours. My site stretches from early Woodland(Adena) to Late Woodland(Ft Ancient) and produces all kinds of nice artifacts.

Unitas that is a killer point! Your Jack Reef's point reminds me a lot of what we call Corner Notched Kirk here in Florida.

Great finds. The conditions aren't right here at this point in time. All of the farmers have plowed, but we need a few good days of rain to wash it out.
