Hi,
yesterday I've found a coin. Does anybody know what it is?
Near of it I found weeks ago a Louis XV coin from 1769, ww1&2 (french, german, US) buttons + bullet casings, british Napoleonic wars ball button and a french 1762 military button if this can help.
The place of finding is germany, ca. 1km from french border.

Backside is unfortunately complete blank.

button with busted off iron loop in center (see the rust spot?)

gilt is a thin gold wash type of plating commonly used on buttons --some were double , or even treble (triple) plated --double gilt .treble gilt , superior quality , rich orange gilt all are common "quality "puff" phrases" used in the late 1700 early 1800 era.
