🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Unknown copper find, civil war or more recent?

Hey all, found this copper piece detecting the site of an old amusement park that closed in ‘05. This area also had a few battles during the Civil War and the Spanish occupied the land in the early 1800s, so I’m unsure of what time period this may be from. It’s about the size of a coaster, and fragile. I’m worried if I try and clean it more I may damage it. Any ideas?

Ahh, forgot to add a scale. Here’s a photo of it next to a penny. I’m off to go look up antique book markers now, thanks for your response
