Was digging under an old shed for new support posts. Found this tool. They don’t close all the way. But I’m assuming that’s on purpose. I’m guessing someone knows exactly what this is, but it’s not me. House was built in 1820 and was a farm. A stream use to run under the shed. They use to slaughter chickens in the shed that had a piece of the floor missing. So all the blood and guts would flow out and away. Hope the neighbors didn’t use the same water source for drinking.

You're right about chicken related. They are poultry sacrifice pliers.
*warning* Graphic description of chicken processing.
Well that’s what they are, for sure. Did you know about these? Or use the chicken slaughtering as a hint while googling?

I had a hunch, but I used a description of the tool and your chicken hint to confirm.
