🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Unknown military emblem

Can anyone help with identifying this item and more importantly the emblem that is stamped into the top of the lid? I found this years ago (so long that I don’t even remember where) and only discovered the emblem yesterday while doing some cleaning and research on it. Unfortunately, I can’t open it due to a dent and some corrosion. According to AI it’s either a match container or possible some type of friction primer container but it hasn’t yet been able to prove it to me. As far as I can tell there is a 5 point crown above an oval containing an eagle with its head facing to the right on a field of stripes. It has a star above its head and one by each leg. There is possibly/probably a shield in front of its chest/legs and 3 cannonballs at its feet. Any info or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you. I went the past several years thinking that’s what it was but, when I was researching it, the lack of an adjustment screw to raise and lower the lipstick sent me down a different path. I’ll start that direction again now.

It's actually an eagle with stars and it's a Coty trademark. As @pepperj suggests, it will be for one of their cosmetic products and likely a lipstick tube. This is from one of their tubes (1930s):

Coty filed various trademark registrations, with the eagle and stars plus crown first registered in 1923. The 'COTY' name wasn't part of the registered design. They also used variants of it which weren't registered.

Well, I have confirmed that it is a lipstick container. Not that I doubted you, I just decided to force it open after discovering that I wouldn’t necessarily be able to see the lifting screw/seem where it connects and spins. I’m still struggling with a brand identification but knowing that I 100% have a lipstick container will be incredibly helpful in my search. Thanks again for your help.
